Why Cardiff Airport rail link is a £15m five-passenger-a-train white elephant

Please forgive us for bringing this issue up again, but nobody has yet questioned our conclusion that the proposed rail spur in the Vale of Glamorgan will be an expensive white elephant.

We’d welcome your comments below, especially if your understanding of the facts – or for that matter, mathematics – is different.

  1. Well as ive lived in rhoose for a number of years and knowing that one train an hour (currently) to cardiff city centre is stupid, 2 an hour would be acceptable. plus as i work near the airport knowing that there currently is less than 5 passengers per train heading to the airport means that the bus is not really required. so personally they need to look at the frequency of trains to go up and the number of bus journeys to and from the airport to the rail link needs to decrease. this is only my opinion but im sure im not the only one who shares it
